On 26 March 2026, a meeting of the Deputy Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans S.Sh. Kurmangaliev with pensioners of the Turksib District took place. In his address, he informed the participants about the existing measures of state social support and explained the changes and amendments in the field of social security for older citizens. Particular attention was paid to issues of pension provision, the granting of benefits, and social assistance.
The event was attended by K.K. Adilbekova, Chief Inspector of the Department of Employment and Social Programs of the Akimat, members of the district Council of Veterans, as well as heads of primary veterans' organizations and public commissions. In total, 50 people were present.
A welcoming speech was delivered by the Chairwoman of the Turksib District Council of Veterans G.A. Baygutdinova, who spoke about the work being done to support the district's veterans and noted the cooperation with the Akimat and the relevant department.
The event took place in the format of an open and constructive dialogue. The participants shared proposals and expressed opinions on current social issues, which made it possible to discuss the matters of concern in a comprehensive manner.
Following the meeting, the participants were given informational materials and commemorative notebooks, and exhaustive explanations were given in response to all questions received.
