On 6 April 2026, a meeting of the Presidium of the Almaty City Council of Veterans was held.
In accordance with the agenda, the following items were considered:

1. Approval of the report by the Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans A.Kh. Bizhanov, “On the Results of the Work of the Almaty City Council of Veterans in 2021–2026,” to be presented at the XI Reporting and Election Conference.

2. Approval of the plan of events for the preparation and observance of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The meeting was attended by members of the Presidium of the Almaty City Council of Veterans, chairmen of the district councils of veterans, and chairmen of the standing commissions.

On the first item, the Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans A.Kh. Bizhanov spoke. In his report, he gave a detailed analysis of the activities of the city and district councils of veterans in 2021–2026, covered the main areas of work and the events held, and noted the results achieved as well as the problems that remain.

On the second item, the Deputy Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans M.M. Abdushkurov spoke. He presented to the participants of the meeting the plan of events dedicated to the preparation and observance of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, offered an analysis of the work ahead, and stressed the importance of military-patriotic education of young people. During the discussion, it was proposed to create a working group to coordinate and organize the planned events.

To implement the plan of events, the following composition of the working group was approved:

  1. Yesenbekov Aydar Rakhymzhanovich — Head of the Department of Public Development of the City of Almaty, head of the working group;
  2. Abdushkurov Murat Mukhtarovich — Deputy Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans, Chairman of the Coordination Council of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan, deputy head of the working group;
  3. Kurmangaliev Serik Sholpankulovich — Deputy Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans;
  4. Almukhambetov Berikzhan Aytkulovich — Chairman of the commission of the Almaty City Council of Veterans for the patriotic and moral education of young people;
  5. Letnikova Klara Artemovna — Chairwoman of the commission of the Almaty City Council of Veterans for perpetuating the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland and outstanding residents of the city and for cooperation with public organizations;
  6. Dildabek Didarbek Zhumagaliuly — Chairman of the youth wing “Zhastar Rukhy” of the Almaty city branch of the Amanat party.

Following the meeting, the Presidium adopted the corresponding resolutions and approved the report of the Chairman of the Council of Veterans and the plan of events dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Particular attention was paid to the patriotic education of young people, cooperation with state bodies, public associations, and youth organizations, and the active participation of veterans in the public life of the city.
