On 26 March 2026, a reporting and election conference of the Medeu District Council of Veterans was held in the building of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.
The event was attended by A.Kh. Bizhanov, Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans; A.A. Nurlybayev, Deputy Akim of the district; as well as members of the public and activists of the veterans' movement. The total number of participants was about 100.
The conference summed up the activities of the district Council of Veterans: the report of Chairman A.A. Tleubayev and the report of the audit commission were heard. Particular attention was paid to the results of work during the reporting period and the organization's current tasks.
Elections were also held for the leadership and for delegates to the XI Almaty City Conference. Following the vote, A.A. Tleubayev once again headed the district Council of Veterans. M.B. Kiykbayeva was elected Deputy Chairwoman, and a renewed composition of the Council was formed. At the close of the event, A.Kh. Bizhanov, Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans, congratulated the elected members, wished them effective and fruitful work, and noted the importance of further developing the veterans' movement. He also expressed gratitude for the active participation in preparing and holding events related to the adoption of the new Constitution, stressing its special significance in the lives of the citizens of Kazakhstan, including members of the older generation.
The participants stressed that the Council of Veterans will continue its work aimed at strengthening the bond between generations, participating in the public life of the district, and preserving spiritual and national values.
