On 2 February 2026, a meeting of the Presidium of the Almaty City Council of Veterans was held, at which two key items on the agenda of important public significance were considered:
1) During the meeting, the Presidium approved the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noting that the proposed changes reflect the public demand for justice, transparency and accountability of the authorities, and also broaden citizens' participation in decision-making. Following the meeting, it was decided to organize a broad discussion of the draft Constitution in the city's veterans' organizations, with the involvement of the media.
2) A resolution was adopted on holding the reporting and election campaign in 2026 in the veterans' organizations of Almaty. The dates of the meetings, the norms of delegate representation and the composition of the city Council of Veterans were determined. Particular attention will be paid to strengthening primary veterans' organizations and stepping up their social and public activities.
The meeting of the Presidium was held in a businesslike and constructive spirit.
