Since the beginning of 2026, the public commission on culture, interethnic relations, and media relations of the Almaty City Council of Veterans has continued its active work aimed at involving veterans in the cultural and public life of the city, strengthening interethnic harmony, developing creative activity, and organizing leisure for citizens of the older generation.
Together with the district councils of veterans, akimats, Active Longevity Centers, theaters, and cultural institutions of the city, the commission held a number of social, cultural, and educational events for the city's veterans.
The main goal and task of the commission is the active involvement of people of the older generation in the public life of the city, drawing the attention of local authorities to their needs, and strengthening society's care for the older generation.
A huge role in involving veterans in active life is played by the Active Longevity Centers, where veterans find activities to their liking and actively take part in concerts, creative meetings, outings in nature, excursions, and charitable cultural events.
