Information on the Meeting with Young People Held by the Medeu District Council of Veterans

On 15 April 2026, a meeting between students and representatives of the Council of Veterans of the Medeu District of Almaty took place at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University. The event was timed to coincide with Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War and was aimed at strengthening the continuity of generations and fostering patriotism and respect for historical heritage.

Before the meeting began, the participants honored the memory of those who died during the war with a minute of silence.

The event was attended by: member of the Almaty Council of Veterans and Chairman of the city commission for cooperation with public organizations and for the patriotic and moral education of young people B.A. Almukhambetov; Chairman of the Coordination Council of Public Associations of War Veterans and Disabled Persons in Afghanistan M.M. Abdushkurov; Chairman of the Medeu District Council of Veterans A.A. Tleubaev; First Vice-Rector of the university P.Sh. Ibragimov; Academician S.S. Orazaly; and President of the Red Crescent Society Ye.K. Argymbekov.

During the meeting, the guests shared with the students their memories, life experience, and reflections on serving the Motherland, the importance of education, and the role of young people in the development of the country. Students were particularly interested in the historical facts about the formation of the Panfilov Division on the territory of the university, as well as the stories about the university's graduates who were war veterans and Heroes of the Soviet Union.

As part of the event, a number of public figures and labour veterans were awarded the badge “Honorary Veteran of the Medeu District.” Among the recipients were: Academician, Doctor of Economic Sciences S.S. Orazaly; labour veteran and university graduate T.U. Beketaev; and member of the Medeu District Council of Veterans and head of the children's club “Veselye Notki” V.V. Osmanova.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Medeu District Council of Veterans was presented with a letter of gratitude on behalf of the Chairman of the Board and Rector of the university A. Kurishbaev.

Such events have become a good tradition of the university and play an important role in the spiritual and moral education of young people, fostering respect for the country's history, the achievements of the older generation, and national values.
