On 24 April 2026, a meeting of the Deputy Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans S.Sh. Kurmangaliev with pensioners of the district took place at the Akimat of the Medeu District.
During the meeting, current issues of the existing measures of state social support, as well as problems of social security for pensioners, were considered. The participants actively exchanged opinions and identified key problem areas requiring further attention. In total, 60 people took part in the event.
Following the meeting, in recognition of their active participation in the public life of the district, S.Sh. Kurmangaliev, as well as activists Z.I. Litvinova and B.A. Asenov, were awarded the medals “Honorary Veteran of the Medeu District.”
The event was attended by representatives of structural divisions of the office of the Akim of the Medeu District: S.Sh. Sarybaeva, Head of Home Social Assistance Department No. 1 for Single Elderly Persons and Persons with Disabilities; R.R. Umirgulova, Head of Home Social Assistance Department No. 4 for Single Elderly Persons and Persons with Disabilities; B.A. Asarova, Chief Specialist of the Department of Employment and Social Programs; as well as representatives of the Active Longevity Center and the school “Shuakty Kemel Zhas.”
Informational materials were handed out to the participants of the meeting.
Following the event, priority areas for further work aimed at strengthening measures of social support for veterans were defined.
