On 24 June 2026, a meeting of the Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans A.Kh. Bizhanov with veterans of the Medeu District took place in the conference hall of the Akimat of the Medeu District, on the existing measures of social support for the population and on the changes in the field of social security for citizens of pensionable age.
The discussion was attended by Ye. Syrym, Head of the Public Development Department of the Akimat of the Medeu District; B.A. Ushkempirov, Head of the Department of Employment and Social Programs of the Akimat; Zh.Zh. Moldasanov, adviser to the Akim; and L.R. Baimuratova, Director of the Medeu Branch of the Active Longevity Center.
During the dialogue, there was an exchange of views on current issues of social support for pensioners. The participants voiced proposals and asked questions of interest, to which appropriate explanations were given. Particular attention was paid to improving the quality of life of veterans, improving the conditions of their social protection, and expanding the accessibility of social services.
At the end of the event, the importance of further cooperation among government bodies, public organizations, and representatives of the older generation for the effective resolution of issues of social support for the population was emphasized.
