On 4 March 2026, the 13th reporting and election conference of the Bostandyk District Council of Veterans was held.
The conference was attended by A. B. Kaldybekov, Akim of the Bostandyk District; A. A. Kenesbay, Deputy Akim of the district; the heads of the public development, culture and education departments of the Akimat; A. Kh. Bizhanov, Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans; the activists of the district Council of Veterans; the chairmen of the standing commissions; Great Patriotic War and home front veterans; honorary citizens of the district; and representatives of the intelligentsia. In total, 92 people attended.
The agenda included hearing the report of the Chairman of the district Council of Veterans and the report of the audit commission, and electing the new membership of the Council of Veterans and the delegates to the city conference.
In his speech, A. B. Kaldybekov, Akim of the Bostandyk District, expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the older generation and noted that their many years of work and life experience are a worthy example for the younger generation. He also called on everyone to take an active part in an important political event for the country — the republican referendum to be held on 15 March.
As a result of the conference, Zh. S. Sadenov was elected Chairman of the district Council of Veterans, R. A. Abilkhanov was elected Deputy Chairman, and G. B. Kusanova was elected Executive Secretary.
The closing address was given by A. Kh. Bizhanov, Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans, who congratulated the newly elected members of the Council, wished them fruitful work and noted the importance of the veterans’ organization’s continued active engagement.
The conference stressed that the Council of Veterans will continue to take an active part in the public life of the district, strengthen the continuity of generations and carry on its work to preserve and promote national values.
