On 8 April 2026, the XI Reporting and Election Conference of the Almaty City Veterans' Organization was held on the topic “On the Results of the Work of the Council of Veterans of the City of Almaty for 2021–2026.” The report on this matter was delivered by the Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans, A.Kh. Bizhanov.

The conference was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Central Council of Veterans, Lieutenant General A.B. Tasbolatov; the Deputy Akim of Almaty, A.N. Nukenov; the Chairman of the Almaty city branch of the Amanat Party, V. Kankurov; delegates; veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers; honorary citizens; and representatives of the city's public.

The agenda included the following items:

- the report of the Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans, A.Kh. Bizhanov;

- the report of the Chairman of the Audit Commission, V.E. Bulekbaev;

- the report of the Chairman of the Credentials Commission, N.M. Tokmoldaev.

- the election of the new composition of the City Council of Veterans and the Audit Commission;

- the election of delegates to the XI Congress of the Republican Public Association “Organization of Veterans” of the Central Council of Veterans.

In his address, Deputy Akim of the city A.N. Nukenov read out the greeting of the Akim of the city, D.A. Satybaldy, and expressed gratitude to the representatives of the older generation, noting that their many years of labor and life experience are an example for young people. In his speech, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Council of Veterans called for greater civic responsibility, for raising young people in the spirit of patriotism, and for preserving the memory of the labor and military feats of the older generation.

As part of the conference, a plenary meeting was held at which A.Kh. Bizhanov was elected Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans, with S.Sh. Kurmangaliev, M.M. Abdushkurov, and N.M. Tokmoldaev as Deputy Chairmen. The new composition of the City Council of Veterans, numbering 85 people, was also approved, and the members of the Audit Commission and the delegates to the XI Congress of the Central Council of Veterans were elected.

The conference emphasized that the Almaty City Council of Veterans will continue to take an active part in the public life of the city, strengthen continuity between generations, continue its work to preserve unity and stability in society, and promote national traditions and family values.

The conference was well organized and held at a businesslike and constructive level.
